Hybrid Engine Warm Up Time

Now winter weather has set in I noticed the Auris 2010 engine takes a long time to get to its normal temp gauge setting.

A typical 11 mile route I take on mostly A with some B roads, the engine has only just reached normal running temp by the end of the journey. Some of the journey I am running on battery, meaning the engine not running, or engine only running at 1000rpm (have an OBED gadget fitted that shows mph and rpm on windscreen.

In the "good old days", in winter I could slip a piece of corn flake package in front of the car radiator to protect rad from cold winter blast, is there anything I can do to get the rad up to temp quicker on the hybrid?

Check engine light after dead battery...

My 2007 auris battery all but died due to me leaving an interior light on. Lights came on but could not turn over. I chucked it on a ctec charger and it now starts and idles fine but ‘check engine’ light is on. Assume this is caused by the des battery and I need a dealer to clear the code?

Auris tyre pressures

Hi I have had constant issues with the tpms since the cold weather arrived. Checked the tyres and they are all around 38ps but tpms remains on. I went to Toyota dealer a couple of months ago as thought had a puncture but said no that tyres were slightly under inflated and resolved it for a couple of weeks by adding more air but now Tpms came back on so Put a bit more air which sufficed for a couple of days but back on again. Dealer said it’s probs due to tyres now being over inflated and so recommended to put them all at 34ps. Done that but no difference and have done numerous tpms resets. Now my journey to work is not long and around 15 mind and know tyre pressures fall in cold weather so do you think tpms only on as tyres not had chance to warm up. Remember once had the issue but after around 30 mins tpms turned off. Thanks and any advice much appreciated.

Well

Over 2 weeks and car-less since sold my car :(

Searched from Toyota Yaris Mk2 - Mk3 - Mk3 CVT - Mk3 Hybrid - then dawn on me that its above my budget for T-Spirit...

Looked at other Hybrids and decided on a 2010 onwards Auris Hybrid T-Spirit with SatNav ....but struggling with a £7k budget... :crybaby:

A few high mileage 1.8 Prius and high mileage Auris - but don't really want to risk £7k on such high mileage ....

If anyone see s/ hear of any Auris Hybrid T-Spirit with SatNav (WHITE) - please let me know! :flowers::driving::toot::thumbsup:

Replacement Keys?

Hi there,

I am trying to find a replacement key for my 09 Auris. I have found many 'shells' with a blank shaft etc but no transponder. Anyone know where I can find one with a transponder? The only ones on ebay are stretching to about £50 which is fine but they are from poland so im reluctant to buy. Havent contacted toyota yet but im assuming crazy money. If I can source a key with transponder can a local auto locksmith program it for me?

Water leak in boot

I've recently purchased a 2007 Mk1 Toyota Auris and have discovered that I have a leak in the boot. The leak is on the passenger side of the boot and I have finally managed to locate the source of the leak. 

Water is dripping from a vent above the rear passenger light access panel. I've searched the forum and have seen a number of topics talking about a vent behind the bumper and I'm not sure if this is the same vent.

I've attached some images of the leak and would be grateful if anyone can tell me how I can go about fixing this.

Toyota Auris Hybrid - Ready light not ready

Hello.
Help help help....help.

I recently bought a 2014 Auris Hybrid 1.8 VVT-i HSD Icon from a Toyota dealer. Good deal and low 13k mileage.

It ran fine for 4 weeks but then on 1 misty morning I got in the car and pressed the Power button and the READY light
did not come on.   I pressed the power again and the dash lights went black and I heard a strange whining noise that would not stop.
I tried pressing the Power button again but nothing happened.
I called Toyota roadside assistance who quickly came and gave my car a jumpstart.  They said the small battery was dead and maybe I left a light on.
All was ok for 2 weeks then on 1 misty morning it happened again.  Same procedure. Jumpstart etc.  This time the AA guru told me to take the car to a dealer.
I took it to the dealer but they said there was not a problem with the small battery.  They are now going to keep my car for 2 weeks  to see if they can find anything.

I've attached a video of the problem.   Has anyone had the same problem or know what is causing it?

Washer Reservoir Tank issue

Hey guys,

So long story short I had a accident with my car and insurance company won't cover my claim so I have to pay for it by my self. Now here comes the problem , according to my colleague who checked catalogue of some supplier original washer Reservoir tank for my exact type of car (2009 Auris E15UT - that is 2.2 D-CAT 130kw , before Facelift)  is 140euros, which is way too much for me right now.

What I would like to do... There are some other Tanks for sale in my area which I would like to buy but I'm not sure if they we be able to mount them for my car, they do not look exactly same but are much cheaper. I know my Auris has Xenons which means I have to have headlight washer nozzles and my tank has extra pump for it ( 3 pumps total). The question is can I buy some other tank from other Auris without this and mount it ? 

I'm providing links for you guys and some photos of my original tank which I cannot even find for sale in my area.

Please If anybody has similar experience or knowledge about this let me know as I'm really desperate. 

My plan is to just ignore the third pump therefore I won't have headlight washers functioning, which I don't use anyway.. I know I'm required to have this but I can pass my state vehicle control anyway without this..  (my washer jet nozzle and front pump broke as well and that's a lot of money). Car is not in the workshop yet and I need to order the parts first that's why I'm here.

Hybrid- Big battery and Little battery

After couple weeks laid up due operation my 2010 Auris Hybrid failed to light up the dashboard. Had to get Start Rescue out to jump start the small 12v battery.

Last week in the very cold snap, car had not moved for couple days, went to go out and the READY light initially failed to light up, eventually did though.

As the car has all the Toyota service stamps (66000 miles now), is there an on-line history available which may tell me the little 12v battery has been changed sometime in the vehicle life. I appreciate a battery could have been fitted by a 3rd party at some time, but if the previous owner has had services at Toyota then good chance had battery changed their as well, if it has been done.

If no record of battery change, the original now would be about 7 year old. If thats the case I would just change it for Toyota price of £120+vat. Other then that MR T want £50+vat just to test it.

the big Re battery, is the £29 big battery health check available on its own ie not linked into a service??

Roof bar installation instructions

This is such a basic question I am astounded that I am struggling to find the answer... 

I have recently acquired a 2008 5dr Auris and I want to fit my Halford's-one-size-fits-all roof bars but I can't find any information on the positioning of the bars. There should be a point in each doorway that is reinforced to carry the extra load. On other car models this is indicated but there are no visible marks present on the Auris. The most info I have managed find out about this is on a Toyota Youtube vid which stated that you need to refer to the owner's manual regarding the positioning but there is no info on roof bars in the owner's manual. 

 

Anyone fitted roof bars to their Auris and know where the fixing points are?

I am a new member to this forum and a new owner to boot.

I have had the car for a couple of months and tomorrow we are off on a longish trip so I thought of checking all the fluid levels.

Everything is fine except for the Invertor Fluid level which is just above the low mark.

The car is cold - does it need topping up and if so can I use a little bit of water?

Never owned a hybrid before so please excuse my ignorance.

Auris HSD 2014 regeration vibration

Hy guy's,

I keep having some noticeable vibrations and a loud noise when the car is trying to recharge the HSD battery.I guess this is caused by one of the MG1/MG2

Could this be caused by a rubber pad or something that prevents vibrations to be outworn?

Check Hybrid System

Hi all,

my toyota auris hybrid 2014 with 102000 mileage, it suddenly come up with (Check Hybrid System) on dashbourd folowing with engine and the triangle light on. it stoped and went into the limp mode.

i called the AA and they found this error codes when diagnosed the car. (Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Hybrid control - 1UH / Hybrid control 3.0P0A40 - Rotor position sensor 2. Error Message : Faulty.P0A41 - Rotor position sensor 2. Error Message : Signal too low.) so we took it to Toyota . the car has no warranty as it just passed the 100K. so toyota says they dont know what could be the issue!!  they want to diagnose the car for 4 hours which will cost more that £400 before they can tell me what is wrong with it. they also said it could cost more tan 3 or 4 thousand pounds.

Has anyone had the same issue or any help and suggestions would be appriciated.

Techstream Brake Bleed On 1.6 D4D

Hi All

 

Does anyone here have experience in using Techstream V12 to bleed brakes? I have successfully communicated with the ABS/VSC/TRAC ECU but I don't get the "Air Bleeding" option showing in the utility menu. Does this mean it is not required on this variant auris?

This is regarding 2015 1.6 D4D (1WW Engine)

Any help is appreciated

Hi, I'm looking to downsize from a Toyota avensis 1.8 petrol tourer to an auris.

looking at these engine stats the 1.33 seems to be a bit underpowered. Just wondering if in real driving this is likely to prove the case and the 1.6 would be a much better bet. May be hatchback or estate.

Chain or Belt?

Hi guys

Just bought an Auris 2.2 D4D T180 last week. Its on a 57 plate. Just wanted to know if the engine has a belt or a chain. I heard its chain driven but i read online that the chain engines started 08 onwards. Any help and info on this would be much appreciated.

I have recently brought an Auris (2015 1.8 hybrid) and am yet to exceed 400 miles from a full tank... This doesn't sound right to me?! Any thoughts??

Hi I have a 2011 auris from brand new  7 weeks ago I parked the car in a hospital car park 2 hours later returned to find it clamped and 2 bricks behind the rear tyres 2 security men arrived to inform me that the car  had moved across the car park with the hand brake fully on they pushed back into its place ,then a few weeks later December 2017 the same thing happens on this time on an incline it slowly rolls backwards I rushed out of the house to try and stop it( to stop it from killing  children on the road and anyone  ) the result i triped and smashed my face on the headlamp smashing it from that moment blank rushed to hospital  by ambulance into a&e 75 stiches to my face and broken wrist moved to 4 different hospitals to get plastic surgery to my face still in recovery (this is not a joke )I am sure the  hand brake is at fault, .

Auris space saver spare wheel kit

After getting a puncture I decided to get the space saver kit, online I have read you should get 4 polystyrene type blocks which I didn’t. Everything fits fine but I am wondering what these blocks are and are they necessary. All parts are genuine Toyota from my local dealer and I had an itemised bill from them and the blocks were not charged.

Trip computer reset itself on hybrid Auris

Hello there,

yesterday, I switched on the car to find the trip computer reset - that also reset overal mileage to 99 l/100 km. It was the second time that happened. It was always after a Garmin satnav was used the previous day - but I'm using it all the time and only experienced that reset on those two occassions.

Has anyone experienced an auto reset?
