when breaking a bit harder than usually it making this farting noises then depressing the pedal. Any ideas on what can it be?

2016 1.4 TD how to drain water from fuel filter?
Just wondering if anyone does this themselves, I'm not seeing enough access in the engine bay to unscrew the nut underneath the filter and put a container down, the only way I can see this being easier is removing the air filter box and piping or going from underneath and hoping there's room from the bottom, but I'd likely need a ramp.
Any ideas anyone? The owners manual says it needs doing every 12k miles but it looks in a PITA place to get at.

Over 2 weeks and car-less since sold my car :(
Searched from Toyota Yaris Mk2 - Mk3 - Mk3 CVT - Mk3 Hybrid - then dawn on me that its above my budget for T-Spirit...
Looked at other Hybrids and decided on a 2010 onwards Auris Hybrid T-Spirit with SatNav ....but struggling with a £7k budget... 
A few high mileage 1.8 Prius and high mileage Auris - but don't really want to risk £7k on such high mileage ....
If anyone see s/ hear of any Auris Hybrid T-Spirit with SatNav (WHITE) - please let me know!

Confused !
Im on my 3rd Toyota 1.4D4D but now looking to venture into the new world to me of a hybrid. Only because I would like a auto.
My daily commute is 80 mile - 40 each way which consisits of 10miles on a fairly fast A road and then 20 miles on Motorway which can be failrly conjested The last 5 miles being in conjusted very slow trafic I have driven a 2014 auris hybrid today but loved it in the town but on the motorway found it reved on inclines so felt it very strange . Reading up on this is meant to be normal .
If anyone does a similiar commute what Mpg do thery get ? If I went for a Hybrid Yaris would it be the same and what MPG roughly would I expect ?

Finding my Auris HSD hard to sell? Help with valuing please?
Hi all, new member here, have had some sort of affiliation with Toyota most of my working life having either been a Toyota apprentice, technician or owning one.
Around July last year I purchased a 2011 Auris HSD T4, it's been a fantastic car that I really have had no problems with, it just works. Have literally had to put tyres and wipers on it along with the obvious servicing.
Circumstances have changed and I need to sell it. It's done 83.5k, long MoT, nearly full (missing one service) service history and is a decent colour. I have priced it at £5695, but while I am getting a decent amount of interest the offers I am getting are derisory in my opinion.
Are these just hard cars to sell or am I just unlucky/in a tricky location (Plymouth)? I figured by buying a HSD it'd be a good investment and fairly easy to sell but the opposite seems to be true. Am I asking too much for it (I've seen these advertised for as little as £4500 with 160k or £8000 with 60k) or do I just need to play the long game?
Also any tips on where to advertise please? I've tried ebay numerous times, gumtree, autotrader and facebook.

Front offside mechanical noise
This noise can be felt though the steering wheel. It is not there all the time, I have driven around trying to check when the sound happens. I have had into the Toyota garage several times and they cannot find the problem, but to me I thought it was something to do with the drive system ,but now l’m more to the suspension as the noise can be herd more times when the car is doing less then 15 mph. Has anybody had this problem / noise?

2010 Toyota Auris RS 1.8L - Engine Ticking Noises
Hi Hope you doing well. So I purchased myself a 2010 Toyota Auris 2010 RS 6 Speed manual about a month ago. The vehicle has only done 18000km on the clock. It has a 1.8L valvematic engine. Actual photos of my car attached. I've noticed alot of engine noises. The engine is worse when car is hot and almost next to none when cold, assume cause RPM higher when it's cold so you dont hear it. The noises are ticking noises very very similar to this YouTube link below.

I'm wondering if any of you guys have had similar experience at all and if you've had a diagnosis at all and would like to share. It's quite annoying as the vehicle is still somewhat new. Is this a sign of a problem or is it just the noise Toyota valvematic engines naturally make. I use 5w-30 Mobile 1 Oil at $120/5L so it's the good stuff. It cant be the tappers as they are hydraulic and the car engine has very very low mileage. Any feedback will be highly appreciated guys

Can't update Touch 2 with go
Hi, I tried to update my Touch 2 with go and seems not working.
I downloaded the free update 6.13.0H from my Toyota account, unzipped in a 32GB USB key formatted in FAT32 and inserted in the USB port. I choose one map to install and I press Update, I confirmed the update in the next screen and I saw an advice about the radio that will be resetted, then the screen became black and went back to the "CAR" screen. The update won't start.
Tried this procedure twice with no success and I don't know what I can do.
What can I do?

Fuse No. 15 under glovebox blows before you can start the car
Good night,
I've encountered a new problem with my 2009 Auris TR Valvematic.
Saturday night I was out filling up the washer reservoir, then I got back into my car and turned the key and got nothing, not even the starter turning over.
Eventually the RAC came and checked the car on his computer to no avail, after checking all the fuses in the engine compartment the technician then searched for what he called the starter relay. Eventually he ended up at a fuse panel located under the glovebox, where fuse 15 (AM1 7.5Amp) was blown once it was replaced the radio came on and the windows worked unlike before when I tried to start earlier.
The eventual solution to get me home without a tow was as follows;
1.Turn key to position 1
2.Put shifter into reverse
3.Turn key to position 2 (turning over)
4.Slowly pull back on shifter to neutral until engine starts, then release key
I can drive as normal as long as I remember the above process.
The car has not yet gone into Toyota for the 2 recalls (fuel suction plate replacement, and opposite orientation of airbag inflator) so now the airbag fault is displayed when the fuse blows.
There you have it.

Hybrid Energy monitor not showing any activity while driving??
For some reason the Energy monitor screen isn't displaying the usual activity while driving - i.e. no arrows showing when HV Battery is charging/discharging etc. Is this normal?

Catalytic convertor lock
We had the catalytic converter stolen from our Toyota Auris hybrid. It has now been replaced but I would like to get a lock or cage to prevent this from happening again.
Toyota only have a lock that is compatible with the Prius. I have rung a few companies that manufacture catalytic converters but they are mainly for commercial vehicles. Has anyone ever had a catalytic converter lock fitted for an Auris? Where did you get this from?

Car door swapping help
Hi,
i want to buy a new drivers door for my Auris 2008 TR. I can find a door for 2010-2013 that looks exactly the same but with indicator on mirror which I would get swapped anyway. Can anyone tell me if it would fit. Don’t want to spend out on a mistake. Got it on hold at a breakers yard so need to know ASAP. Can anyone help me please ?

Creaking suspension issue
I have a 2014 Auris Sporting Tourer which has a creaking suspension issue. It creaks both on the nearside and offside when a the car's corners are under load, so for example going up or down multi-storey car parks and sometimes going around roundabouts
Toyota have checked the car three times now and say there is nothing wrong with the suspension but as the video below shows, there is an issue. Sadly the technician who said he watched the video yesterday wasn't the technician who worked on my car! I actually doubt they watched the video as stats show no views either.
Anyone have any ideas at all?

dash remains illuminated after ignition off check engine warning
I noticed a problem with my 1.33 petrol 2012 Toyota Auris when i turned off the ignition.
The dash lights remain illuminated and and the engine check warning or airbag check warning comes on.
Once you start the car and drive off, the problem stops but once the ignition is turned off the problem happens again.
The ECO RUN Converter has already been replaced previously for a similar problem (flickering dash lights with ignition off - technical service bulletin from Toyota BE-0070T-0514)
Anyone have any ideas

Crankshaft position sensor
Hello everybody,
I have 2007 Auris 1.6l VVT-i and i have been getting P0335 error code, which as many of you may know stands for Crankshaft position sensor. I wanted to troubleshoot this problem myself by testing the sensor but i don't know where it is positioned in the engine.
Can any of you help me by telling where it is located? This is my first car. Would appreciate the help.

Keys locked in 2018 Auris!
So the Battery was flat in the 2018 Hybrid. I opened the door with the key manually, dropped in the cup holder and then closed the door before connecting up a boost pack. The car set off the alarm and locked the doors. We only have 1 key for the car and it's now locked inside.
Never knew it would do this! I had jump started about 6 on the same day, but had the keys in my pocket and it doesn't lock.
Can anyone suggest a method or tools to open the car?
