As I am going to buy a car for Private Hire ASAP, following the great response I received online as well as offline, I decided to go with 'Japanese car' and hybrid technology. Started to research Toyota Auris Touring Sports Hybrid online just to find out that they keep the value well and not many of them are available at the moment, not under £12,000 anyway (more likely 16-20 grants).

I am interested more in leather seats with lumbar support and panoramic roof rather than Sat Nav and fancy big alloys.
I seen few quite interesting 2.0 litre 40,000+ miles diesels: Avensis Estate and Skoda Superb tho.
I am a father of two children under 5, so I am looking for comfortable, safe and reliable estate cars as we need more luggage space when visiting family or going for holidays. I will be doing long distance trips like 1,000 miles in row few times per year, that is why I am considering diesel too. I know many of you would suggest hybrids for the city job but I am not impressed of their mpg on a highways or reeving noise when accelerating.
