Had an Auris for 3 years with no problems so changed for a new one 2 weeks ago, Auris icon+ hybrid. Everything fine except for an annoying loud brake squeal when coming to a stop such as traffic lights. Never had this before (I have had 5 new Toyotas), but a friend who bought the same model car a month ago also has this problem.
Dealership says to let the brakes bed in, the compound has been changed and they will squeal. WHAT !!!! It sounds like the pads need renewing not brand new with 350 miles on the clock.
Phoned Toyota and they said they were not aware of this. Again WHAT !! Google it and there are loads of complaints.
What do I do folks. No-one seems to be interested. Do I indeed have to bear the embarrassment of squealing to a halt or can I demand that the braking system be changed or overhauled.
